Hi, I'm Heather Rattai, a Registered Clinical Counsellor With over 29 years of experience, I am deeply passionate about helping people change their lives. My focus is on supporting first responders, those struggling with disordered eating, and individuals working through historic and recent traumas. When life’s stress, anxiety, guilt, and depression stand in the way of becoming the person you’re meant to be, it’s time to reach out for support. As a counsellor, I offer compassionate guidance and nurturing support to help you navigate your current challenges, clarify your needs and goals, and create a practical “game plan” to become the person you want to be—leading a fulfilling, empowered life.
Qualifications: I have completed a BA (psychology), a Master of Arts (criminology) and a Master of Counselling degree. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#6187) in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I am an approved provider for ICBC.
My Approach and Expertise For over 12 years, I have used Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy to help clients heal from trauma and emotional distress. In addition to EMDR, I integrate somatic therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) approaches to support deeper healing. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and an Approved EMDR Consultant through EMDRIA, and I am committed to ongoing professional development. I regularly attend training and seminars to ensure I’m offering the most effective and up-to-date counseling methods to my clients.
I have completed the Occupational Awareness Training for Therapists: Understanding First Responder Trauma.
